Often times while you are working you may find your chair's armrests get in the way. Whether you are sitting down in your chair or standing up to take a break, arm rests always tend to get in the way. If your workstation is ergonomically set up to have a keyboard tray installed underneath your desk, having a chair with armrests can be even more troublesome in trying to find a way to fit them beneath both your desk and your keyboard tray. Having armrests on a chair will also defeat the ergonomic benefits of using a keyboard tray because it will make you type in an unnatural position leading to strain on your wrists. Sliding into an armless chair is effortless, and getting in and out of your chair will no longer seem like a chore. Reaching for things near or on your desk will also be much simpler without arms being in the way.
Once you have your budget figured out, it is essential to identify the key ergonomic features you will want in your office chair. Some features you maybe looking for are the overall height of the chair, the shape and contour of the back rest, the type of arm rests and whether the chair swivels or is fixed in place. Other features you may want to think about including in your search are ergonomic functions such as seat height, back height, knee tilt, movable arm rests, a seat slider, a ratchet back, and built in lumbar support. You will also need to consider the nature of your work; do you work in a call center sitting in a chair 12 hours a day or do you work from home 3-4 hours a day? You will also need to factor in your height and your weight, if you are under 5'3" you may want to opt for a petite office chair in order to fit your body or conversely if you are 6'4" you will want to look into a big and tall chair to support you. Your chair will need to fit into your pre-exisitng color scheme where you will be using it, so look into similar chair colors as what you already have going on.
Another hassle that is sure to be encountered when you have a white chair in your office is that of maintenance. Maintaining a white office chair as white can be quite a task in itself. They are prone to showing all the dust and dirt that they collect. A stain or two of ink or grease can just about ruin the appearance of the white chair. This is because a white chair is just that- white. In addition to it showing any stain or dirt that it may accumulate, it is quite unnerving to sit on a white chair. An employee may be constantly worrying whether his/ her pen may scratch against the chair's surface and create a blue line.
It lacks the other cool adjustments you can find in other much more expensive ergonomic work chairs but it is good enough with its basic but essential features. The Office Star Deluxe also offers a shorter warranty as compared to the more expensive ones. The warranty covers one year on the upholstery, two years on its moving parts and five years for the non-moving parts.
